28th Oct 2021

We often see pest control and extermination used interchangeably but they don’t mean the same thing. Pest problems are a big issue and there are a variety of ways to keep them out of your home or business in Northeast Wisconsin.  K & C Pest Control wants to go over the key differences between pest control and extermination so you know what to expect and what to ask for if you do need to get rid of pests in your home or business within the Fox Valley.

Extermination

When you think of extermination, you think of fully killing off the pests which is a correct thought. This method depends solely on pesticides which takes care of the problem but creates different ones and can be harmful to humans and their pets. Since this affects a wider area than required, it’s difficult to narrow in on the specific pest problem. This often gives a temporary solution to a long term pest issue.

Pest control

Pest control focuses on what is causing the pest problem in your home or business such as finding where the pests are entering into the residential or commercial building. This solution seeks long term prevention and management so the pest don’t continue to be a problem. Pest control often uses materials that are less harmful to humans and pests as opposed to extermination.
